We already steal enough from nature, do we really need rocks?
The Sailing Stones at Racetrack Playa in Death Valley have long been on my list of weird things to see. These rocks move across the playa floor due to very specific conditions of ice and wind. For nearly 100 years people theorized about how these stones moved; it wasn’t until 2013 that movement was finally documented and one theory proved.
Unfortunately people have been stealing the rocks over the years because they believe they have spiritual powers. Nope, it’s just windy and icy sometimes.
