My dad and I decided a long time ago that we wanted to go to Finland when he retired. My friend Ang and her dad tagged along since we’re all Finnish and have never been there. The trip grew a little to include Iceland (cheap tickets from IcelandAir if you stop there) and Estonia because it’s just across the Gulf of Finland from Helsinki.
We spent two nights in Reykjavik, four in Helsinki, three in Tallinn, and one more in Helsinki on the way home. I will easily spend a week each in Iceland and Finland in the future. Our Airbnb rentals were all great, and we met all kinds of cool people. Except the Swedes. Finns aren’t supposed to like the Swedes.
